Sports Premium Funding

Sports Premium is an amount of money allocated to schools to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision. Schools are free to determine how best to use this funding to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision, including increasing participation in PE and sport so that pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.

At Northlands Wood Primary Academy we will be using the money to focus on four key areas:

  • Assured training and coaching for staff to raise their confidence and competence in teaching PE and sport
  • Increased participation and enjoyment of PE for all pupils during lessons and extra–curricular opportunities
  • Development of our talented sportsmen/women to support them in reaching their potential and further progressing within their fields
  • Procurement of high-quality, age appropriate equipment to meet the needs of our pupils in a growing school

In 2019 – 20, Northlands Wood Primary Academy received £19,030 premium. We are anticipating to spend this funding on the following projects to ensure that we can support all of our pupils as they develop healthier lifestyles and increase their participation and enjoyment in PE.

The following opportunities will be available for pupils in 2019/20.
