Sports Premium Funding
Sports Premium is an amount of money allocated to schools to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision. Schools are free to determine how best to use this funding to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision, including increasing participation in PE and sport so that pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.
At Northlands Wood Primary Academy we will be using the money to focus on four key areas:
- Assured training and coaching for staff to raise their confidence and competence in teaching PE and sport
- Increased participation and enjoyment of PE for all pupils during lessons and extracurricular opportunities
- Development of our talented sportsmen/women to support them in reaching their potential and further progressing within their fields
- Procurement of high-quality, age-appropriate equipment to meet the needs of our pupils in a growing school
In 2020 – 21, Northlands Wood Primary Academy received £19,351 by way of Sports Premium funding. Due to restrictions imposed by the pandemic, there was also an amount of £5,941 that needed to be carried forward.
